The best smartphone is not necessarily the most advanced. The young company Nothing has understood this well with its Phone 2a. Launched last March, this smartphone takes the ingredients of the brand's high-end models, with a few little things missing.
Nothing stands out from the rest of the market with its smartphones at unique design symbolized by a transparent shell and Glyph technology (an LED system on the back of the phone). Technically, the Phone 2a can do everything: it is efficient, durable, has a fast charging system and produces very decent photos.
It also stands out for its original interface. If Nothing is not yet the Apple of Android, it comes seriously close in terms of interface.
The great strength of the Phone 2a? Its price. This great proposition is billed at only 350 euros. A very attractive price compared to the experience offered. We didn't elect it smartphone of the year for nothing.

If Nothing doesn't ring a bell, chances are CMF won't. This Nothing subsidiary is all about making technology accessible and fun at a very low price. There is no question of offering basic smartphones under the pretext that the budget is limited.
Thus, the Phone 1, sold for only 200 euros, shines with its originality. For this price, the company has necessarily made technical sacrifices. It is dressed in plastic, its screen does not reach the quality of a premium model (logical), its processor is less efficient and its camera is average.
Despite everything, the CMF Phone 1 remains a very nice proposition for very small budgets and ideal as a first smartphone. It indeed takes up Nothing's audacity in terms of design. But rather than offering a transparent shell, the brand plays on modularity.
You can change the color of the shell and add accessories to the device thanks to a small screw directly attached to the phone. You can wear it over your shoulder or add a small foot to watch videos.
Above all, the CMF Phone 1 integrates the same interface as Nothing phones, which promises a very pleasant daily experience. So you can have an easy-to-use and stylish smartphone for 200 euros in 2024. Who would have believed it ?

Latest generation of affordable Google smartphones, the Pixel 8a will delight photography enthusiasts. Thanks to the brand's expertise in artificial intelligence, photos shot on the Pixel 8a rival a good portion of premium models. However, it is sold two times cheaper.
The photo is not the only asset of this model. Google also integrates a high-end chip, takes care of the design and opts for a high-quality screen. Add to that a look that is recognizable among a thousand as well as an interface specific to Google and we get one of the most complete smartphones in this price range. The Pixel 8a is one of the editorial team's favorites. That's to say it's excellent.

Aside from its iPhone SE (which is seriously starting to date), we can't say that Apple offers affordable smartphones. On the other hand, by turning to older models, it is possible to find what you're looking for without spending a four-figure sum.
Thus, the iPhone 13 is undoubtedly the best value for money for this 2024 back-to-school season. You will still have to pay the sum of 750 euros to afford it. Yes, we are talking about an Apple product.
Since the iPhone 13, Apple hasn't really changed its recipe. By accepting a few very small sacrifices compared to the iPhone 15 (or 14), we find in the iPhone 13 a powerful, durable phone that is still equipped with the latest technologies. It is still very convincing in terms of photography and video and enjoys an incomparable lifespan on the market. It will also receive the next iOS 18 update and probably many others.
Don't make us say what we didn't say: for this price, you can treat yourself to newer and more complete models. To do this, you'll have to turn to a smartphone running Android.
