As IFA kicks off in Berlin this week, the world awaits the unveiling of the iPhone 16 next Monday. The new smartphones from the Apple brand should be the sensation of the new school year, unless it is overtaken by another device, produced by Huawei.
The Chinese brand is indeed aiming to overshadow Apple and its iPhone 16 with a new, highly innovative device. As a sign that it wants to tread on Apple's toes, Huawei has decided to organize its presentation conference on September 9, the same day as Apple.
By taking so much risk, by putting itself so much in the spotlight, the firm knows that it must offer something big, something new. And that is exactly what it intends to do. The brand wants to market the first three-panel smartphone in history.
A smartphone, three screens
While smartphones with a folding screen already exist, they all follow the same design model. An external screen, and two folding screens inside, which can open like a book. This “Fold” configuration is the most widespread today. There are also “Flip” phones that open like flaps with one external screen and two inside the device.
But Huawei does not want to do like everyone else. If the brand also plans to use three screens, they will be foldable on a single plane. In other words, it will be possible to switch from one screen to three, depending on the user's needs.

A few days ago, leaker Ice Universe revealed a press invitation for next Monday's event. The conference will take place at 2:30 PM local time from the brand's headquarters in China. Just hours before the release of the iPhone 16, Huawei will occupy the media scene with a new device.
