Acer presents a completely crazy concept: a laptop with an integrated controller

If you are a PC gamer, this new concept presented by Acer, called Project DualPlay, could be the machine you have always dreamed of. Indeed, the idea of this project is to allow gamers to play in the best possible conditions, while being mobile. And for this, the laptop integrates a wireless controller. Acer designers have imagined a controller that is stored in the laptop and which, when not in use, serves as a touchpad. But when the player needs his controller, he only has to press two buttons to detach the controller. And that's not all, since pressing these two buttons also activates the output of two small 5-watt speakers that will allow the player to enjoy a superior audio experience during his games.

A design optimized for video games

And that's not all, since Acer has even thought about multiplayer games. Indeed, the controller can be detached to obtain two controllers, allowing two people to face each other on fighting games, for example. “The new gaming laptop concept creates an electrifying atmosphere that fuels the passion of gamers. The device is wrapped in dynamic 360-degree customizable RGB lighting on the keyboard, screen bezels and a large trackpad area to add to its visual appeal”, says the brand, which is presenting this new idea at the IFA in Berlin.

An interesting concept

Unfortunately, this is just a concept that Acer has come up with for its Predator gaming PC line. So, for now, we don’t know if this idea could ever become a commercial product. Acer doesn’t give any details on the specifications it could give to such a machine. And we don’t have any idea of the price. But in any case, this idea of including a controller in the design of a gaming PC is very interesting.

  • Acer unveils the Project DualPlay, a concept laptop with a controller integrated into the design
  • When stored, the controller serves as a touchpad
  • The machine also integrates two small retractable speakers, for an optimal audio experience
  • But for the moment, it is only a concept, but not a commercial product
