LIVE. Paralympic Games 2024: silver for Vergnaud in para cycling, Martinet in the para judo final, live

This Thursday, September 5, could once again be a very productive day for the French delegation.

The essentials

  • The road events in para cycling punctuate the day with a nice gold medal for Florian Jouanny in the H1-2 category and a silver for Loïc Vergnaud in H. Joseph Fritsch, Johan Quaile and Mathieu Bosredon also hope to bring home a medal. In para shooting in the mixed 50m event, Jean-Louis Michaud took the bronze medal.
  • In para swimming, Ugo Didier, Hector Denayer and Laurent Chardard have all qualified for the finals that will be held this evening. Sandrine Martinet is on her side in the para judo final and will bring home a new medal.

Sandrine Martinet's final in -48kg J2 is scheduled in 12th fight at the Arena du Champ de Mars. The afternoon session starts at 4 p.m.

We were 14th in Tokyo; aiming for the top 8 means doubling the number of gold medals, so a real ambition,'' said Marie-Am&eacutelie Le Fur, president of the French Paralympic Committee. As a reminder, in 2021, the French Paralympic delegation won 54 medals, including eleven Olympic titles.
