The speed limit is 90km/h on this busy motorway, be careful if you have to use it

The speed limit has been ;has been modified since September 2 on this highway.

You too, on certain journeys, you no longer know what speed you are allowed to drive? With the incessant changes in speed limits on the roads, it is increasingly difficult not to repeatedly squint at your speedometer or GPS to know the value not to exceed. It is tiring and, let's be frank, a bit dangerous when you know the attention that driving a vehicle requires. It is all the more so high speed, particularly on motorways, which do not escape this phenomenon of the variation of the authorized speed: sometimes 130, sometimes 110, sometimes 130…

But the lowering of the speed limit on motorways is sometimes even more significant. This has been the case since September 2 on one of the busiest motorways in France: the A13. Running between Paris and Caen, over 225 kilometers, the Normandy motorway has recently been the subject of a drastic reduction in speed on one of its sections. This is on the of Rouen, in Seine-Maritime, that motorists are asked to slow down considerably since the end of the summer holidays.

Be careful if you exceed 90 km/h on the section located between exit no. 23 (Rouen-Ouest) and the A13/A139 interchange. The renovation of a bridge, located at kilometer 116 of the A13, has prompted SANEF, the company that operates this motorway, to lower the speed in both directions in order to make the work zone safer. While the three lanes will still be in place this location during the construction period, their narrowing required further limiting the speed of traffic.

Motorists who are used to driving on this part of the A13 will have to be extra vigilant to avoid breaking the law. Speeding on a lane limited to 90 km/h results in a fine of at least 68 euros and the loss of at least one point on the driving license unless it is less than 5 km/h. If this new speed limit 90 is only temporary, it will still last two and a half months, until November 15, the time to complete the work.
