Ligue 1: OM falls and lets PSG and Monaco take off, all the results and the ranking

Before the Champions League, PSG and Monaco have ensured the essentials against à Rennes and Montpellier to take the lead at the top of Ligue 1.

The 6th day of Ligue 1 allowed PSG and AS Monaco to take the lead in the French championship after the defeat of the Marseillais on Sunday September 29th on the side of Strasbourg. De Zerbi's men lost for the first time in Alsace after a dull match, certainly the worst since the arrival of the Italian technician on the side of the Phocaean city.

As a result, OM has dropped to 3rd place in the standings, behind Paris and Monaco. At the start of the 6th matchday on Friday, the Parisians won fairly easily against Rennes thanks, once again, to a great Bradley Barcola, who scored two fabulous goals and was close to a hat-trick if his shot had not hit Mandanda's post. Paris could have been alone in the lead, but for its centenary, AS Monaco played with the nerves of his supporters by scoring the winning goal at the end thanks to Camara against Montpellier and hangs on.

In the rest of the results of the day, Reims continues its good start to the season after its victory against Angers and is in 3rd place in Ligue 1. Lille and Jonathan David, author of a hat-trick, reassured themselves against Le Havre while at the bottom of the table, Montpellier, Saint-Etienne and Angers bring up the rear. The Greens having snatched a point from Nantes this Sunday.

08:27 – Marseille loses its footing

For the last match of the 6th day of Ligue 1, OM lost its very first match of the season and even delivered a rather insipid performance against a serious and diligent Strasbourg team. As a result, the Marseillais dropped to 3rd place in the standings and let Paris and Monaco take the lead in this Ligue 1. “We lost too many duels, we lost 80% of these duels. Around the area, they always arrived before us, they were more aggressive. I have a group of good guys, who want to do well, but they lost too many duels once again, aerial duels, and in the end the defeat is deserved,” explained the Italian coach of OM.
