This new version of the Model Y integrates a third row of seats, adding two additional seats in the rear of the vehicle. These forward-facing seats fold flat to maximize cargo space when not in use.

Access to this third row is via buttons on the back of the second-row seats that slide and fold them, making it easier for rear passengers to get in and out.

Tesla promises generous headroom for the occupants of this last row, with two USB-C ports to charge their devices.

Impressive cargo volume

Despite the addition of two extra seats, the 7-seater Model Y retains good cargo capacity. Tesla has been able to take advantage of the vehicle's electrical architecture to maximize the available space.

Without a front engine or a fuel tank in the rear, the SUV offers 117 liters of storage under the front hood and 363 liters behind the third row. In concrete terms, even with 7 passengers on board, it is still possible to fit 2 suitcases in the rear trunk and 2 large bags in the front.

When the third row is folded down, the loading volume climbs to 753 liters. Enough to easily transport strollers, scooters or folding beds. Tesla even claims that it can hold up to 850 diapers — a fact that may speak to young parents.

200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000

In total, the manufacturer announces a loading volume of up to 2,040 liters, placing the Model Y among the most spacious vehicles in its category.

Performance and autonomy preserved

The addition of two additional seats does not appear to have impacted the Model Y's performance. This 7-seater configuration is offered exclusively on the version Long Range Transmission integral.

Tesla announces a WLTP autonomy of 533 km, which can even reach 565 km with the rims 19 inches as standard. Figures that should reassure families planning long journeys.

The manufacturer also highlights access to the Supercharger network, presented as the largest and most reliable in the world. A significant advantage for family trips, promising shorter and more economical charging stops.

A studied price positioning

Tesla seems to have taken care of its price positioning for this new version. The 7-seater option is available from 2,500 euros, a relatively modest supplement given the added features.

The manufacturer emphasizes the total cost of ownership of the vehicle, arguing that by taking into account purchase subsidies, fuel savings and low maintenance costs, the Model Y is closer to less high-end mass-market vehicles in terms of overall budget.

In France, The Model Y range starts at 40,990 euros, a price that allows you to benefit from the maximum ecological bonussince this is produced at the Gigafactory in Berlin-Brandenburg. The first deliveries of the Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive 7-Seater are scheduled for the current quarter.
