Attempted rape in the Bois de Boulogne: the chilling story of the attack

Nearly a month after Philippine's death in the Bois de Boulogne, a young woman claims to have been attacked by a man. An investigation has been opened for attempted rape.

She was jogging on Monday, October 14, late in the afternoon, when she was allegedly the victim of an attempted rape. According to information from Actu17, a 19-year-old woman filed a complaint Monday evening at the Neuilly-sur-Seine police station in Hauts-de-Seine. Nearly a month after the murder of Philippine, a 19-year-old student, which occurred in a few hundred meters from the scene of this new attack, in the Bois de Boulogne, the young woman claims to have been attacked by an individual aged around forty or fifty.

The events allegedly occurred around 5:45 p.m., on Boulevard Maurice-Barrès. The woman who had a slight injury to her cheek when she filed her complaint explained that she had struck her attacker in the lower abdomen and managed to escape.

An investigation for attempted rape has been opened. “The Nanterre prosecutor's office, which was the first to be notified, has relinquished jurisdiction to the Paris prosecutor's office, which has territorial jurisdiction,” the Paris prosecutor's office said. The first district of the Paris judicial police is in charge of the case. Tuesday at 4 p.m., Le Parisien reported that no suspects had yet been arrested.
