Filming was complicated for Jon Hamm

The actor who plays the famous Don Draper had a very particular concern during filming. And for good reason, a makeup artist always had to make sure he was clean-shaven, reports Screenrant. While his beard grew very quickly, his face sometimes had to be shaved up to three times a day.

Don Draper could have been played by another actor

Our colleagues also specify that John Slattery almost played Don Draper. Finally, the production decided to give him the role of Roger Sterling, a particularly inspired choice. Especially since the latter is excellent in the skin of this character more bourgeois than his colleague. For his part, Jon Hamm managed to steal the show with his charisma.

The actors didn't really smoke

You've probably noticed that most of the stars of the series smoke like chimneys. It must be said that Mad Men depicts a time and an environment where smoking was omnipresent. According to Vulture, the actors only used fake cigarettes during the takes. While some scenes require many takes, it wouldn't have been healthy to smoke so much.

But smoking these fake cigarettes didn't seem very pleasant either, according to Jon Hamm. Quoted by our colleagues, he confided that the latter had a horrible taste of grass and soap.

The role of Don Drapper's son was entrusted to 8 actors

According to Business Insider, Bobby Drapper was played by eight young actors. Kiernan Shipka, who played Sally Draper, even gave each of them a nickname.

Only one character appears in each episode of the series

As expected, it is the legendary Don Draper played by Jon Hamm.
