US President Joe Biden made a touchy remark out of the blue on Tuesday, saying that to block Donald Trump’s radical proposals, “we have to lock him up.”

The White House has been very quiet about the many cases involving Donald Trump, the Republican candidate facing Democrat Kamala Harris in the November 5 presidential election.
When Donald Trump faced Hillary Clinton in 2016, the businessman had called for his Democratic opponent to be investigated and imprisoned, with angry crowds frequently chanting: “Lock her up!” A major break from the political norms of the time.
Donald Trump's campaign team was quick to seize on the president's comments to attack the Democratic Party.
“Joe Biden just admitted the truth: His plan and Kamala’s plan have always been to politically persecute their opponent, President Trump, because they can’t beat him fair and square,” said Karoline Leavitt, a spokeswoman for the Republican campaign.
At several of Harris’ campaign rallies, crowds have chanted, “Lock him up!”
But the vice president was quick to respond, “Wait,” at a rally earlier this month. Before saying, “The courts will take care of that.” Let’s deal with November, okay ?”.
Two weeks before the election, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris remain neck and neck in the polls.
