For several months now, Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses have been making headlines. In addition to the presence of features such as a camera that allows you to take videos, listen to music or make calls, these glasses also integrate Meta AI, a competitor to ChatGPT. The only downside: until now, this integration of Meta AI was absent in France.
But in a press release published this week, Mark Zuckerberg's group finally announced the arrival of Meta AI on its connected glasses in France, as well as in Italy, Ireland and Spain. “Starting today, residents of these countries can interact with Meta AI using their voice to get answers to general questions”, explains the company. Meta AI is available in French, Italian and Spanish. Unfortunately, the Meta AI feature that allows the user to ask questions about what they see (thanks to the integrated camera) is still only available in the United States and Canada.
In any case, Meta AI is already capable of giving recommendations. For example, you can ask it what the best pastry in Paris is or ask it for gift suggestions for your children. And if you are writing text, you can interact with this assistant integrated into Ray-Ban Meta glasses to find inspiration.

Meta does not reveal the sales volumes of its connected glasses. But the group regularly mentions the success of this product. “Demand for eyewear continues to be very strong. The new transparent edition we launched at Connect sold out almost immediately and was selling for over a thousand dollars online. We’ve deepened our partnership with EssilorLuxottica to build the next generation of smart glasses that deliver cutting-edge technology and style,” Mark Zuckerberg recently said at Meta’s quarterly earnings call.
Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are also said to be inspiring competitors. For example, rumors suggest that Apple is now exploring the possibility of creating a similar product, while Samsung is already planning to launch a direct competitor to the Ray-Ban Meta in 2025. Xiaomi could also offer something similar. But for now, these are just rumors.
