SNCF STRIKE. The strike forecasts for Thursday, November 21, 2024 have been released. Here are the disruptions announced in detail on TGV, Intercités, TER and RER trains.

[Updated on November 19, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.] SNCF unions have called for a strike this Thursday, November 21 to denounce the dismantling of Fret SNCF and the opening up to competition. This Tuesday, traffic forecasts were announced by SNCF Voyageurs and the Transilien website for the Ile-de-France region. If on the TGV side, there is not too much worry to be done with traffic announced “Almost normal” by the railway company, disruptions are however to be expected on “on certain regional lines”: TER as well as RER and Transilien lines in the Paris region.

This day of strike action to denounce a “strategy of social dumping and unlimited financial profitability” on the part of the management of the railway company is announced as an “ultimatum” before a potential movement renewable every 24 hours envisaged in from Wednesday, December 11, 2024, i.e. 10 days before the start of the end-of-year holidays. The consequences for SNCF users could be considerable. If the strike continues after December 11, it could disrupt scheduled travel during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

The strike of November 21, 2024 affects some of the SNCF's TER, Transilien and RER trains. On the TGV side, SNCF Voyageurs announces almost normal traffic. Here are the disruptions in detail for this strike day:

In December, users of the main lines (TGV, Intercités), medium-sized lines (TER) and smaller lines on the Île-de-France network (Transilien and RER managed by SNCF) could expect major disruptions starting on 11 December at 7 p.m., but we don't know for how long.

How do I know if my train has been cancelled? due to the SNCF strike?

Passengers on cancelled TGV and Intercité trains will receive information via email or SMS between 24 and 48 hours in advance (provided they provided their contact details when booking). However, users of TER trains without a connection will not receive SMS. It is advisable to check the information by entering your train number the day before and just before departure on the SNCF website.

SNCF users can quickly check the traffic status and find out if a particular train has been cancelled or is leaving late. For information on TGVs, the telephone number provided provision is 0 805 90 36 35. To follow the traffic of all the main or medium lines (TGV, Intercités, TER), go to this SNCF page. For information on the Transilien or RER in the Paris suburbs, call 0 805 90 36 35 or consult the dedicated platform.
