The United States will provide Ukraine with “non-persistent antipersonnel mines” (equipped with a self-destruct or self-deactivating device) to bolster its defenses against a Russian invasion, a senior US official told AFP.

The move comes after President Joe Biden gave Ukraine the green light Sunday to use long-range missiles supplied by the United States against Russian territory.
