It's coming soon! The Christmas bonus will soon be paid to just over two million French people in preparation for the end-of-year holidays. This financial aid, granted to low-income households in France, mainly benefits those who receive certain social benefits. Set up in 1998, it aims to provide additional economic support to families with low income during a period often marked by increased expenses.

This bonus is paid by the Family Allowance Fund (CAF), the Mutualité Sociale Agricole (MSA), or Pôle emploi, depending on the beneficiary's status. It mainly concerns recipients of the Active Solidarity Income (RSA), the Solidarity Allowance Specific (ASS), or the Retirement Equivalent Allowance (AER).

The amount of the bonus varies depending on the composition of the household. In 2024, it is around 152.45 euros for a single person, but may be higher for couples or families with children. Payments are generally made during the month of December. This year, the schedule is slightly modified compared to usual. But this is good news for beneficiaries. Indeed, the Christmas bonus will arrive earlier than usual in the accounts: the payment will be made on Friday, December 13, 2024.

An exceptional check, although paid every year, the amount of which does not vary according to inflation. Enough to raise voices that criticize its insufficient nature in the face of the price increases experienced in recent years.
