The terms of the increase in retirement pensions have been enacted ;eacute;es.
From simple and easy information – in appearance – to implement, the increase in retirement pensions has turned into an indigestible mishmash and, above all, incomprehensible for those most concerned. Between the various announcements and reversals, it is difficult to find your way around. The horizon is now clearer, here is what awaits retirees in the coming weeks.
In January, basic pensions, paid by Carsat, should have increased by 1.6%. However, it was decided to complicate the implementation of this increase. When the new year comes around, the increase will only be half of what was planned, i.e. 0.8%. A catch-up will then be carried out in July, but not for everyone.

On January 1st, all basic pensions will therefore be increased by 0.8%. If Carsat usually paid you 500 euros, the amount will increase to 504 euros. For an amount of 1000 euros, it will increase to 1008 euros. An increase that applies to everyone, without distinction of income.
On July 1st, a new increase in retirement pensions will take place. But this time, not all seniors will be able to benefit from it. Only those who receive a maximum of 1,500 euros per month in retirement, basic pension and supplementary pension combined, will see their basic pension increased by 0.8% again.
In addition, on this same date, a supplementary bonus will be paid. It will correspond to the additional 0.8% that retirees should have received between January and June.
Let's take two examples. Currently, Gisèle receives 1350 euros in pension, including 1000 euros from Carsat. In January, she will receive 1008 euros (+0.8%) from pension insurance. In July, this amount will increase to 1016.06 euros (+0.8% again). In addition, she will receive 48 euros in bonuses to compensate for the additional 0.8% she would have had to receive between January and June.
For his part, Christophe receives 2000 euros in retirement: 1500 euros from Carsat and 500 euros from the supplementary pension. In January, his basic pension will increase to 1512 euros. However, in July, he will not be entitled to the new increase or to the bonus because his income (basic + supplementary) exceeds the ceilings established to receive these additional payments.
It should also be noted that survivor's pensions paid by retirement insurance are also affected by these increases planned in two stages.
