Patrick Poivre d'Arvor would be convinced to please

In her report, the psychologist analyzed: “The multifactorial aspect of the explanation of things that happen is difficult to take charge of by the subject, making the process of giving meaning to what happens delicate”. According to her, the 77-year-old former journalist “convinced himself that he would please” and that given his notoriety, he was able to give substance to this feeling. His career path would have given him “generalized authority and desirability”.

“It seems that the subject presents the recurring and diffuse sensation of being wanted by the other (…). This sensation of being wanted seems to be there from the outset, like a certainty preceding the encounter with the reality of the other”, analyzed the expert before adding: “These elements of analysis of the psychopathology of Mr. Patrick Poivre d'Arvor show that his mental functioning and his psychic position can make fragile the capacities to doubt, the capacity to question things, to take the measure of what they will ask of him, and to question himself”.

Patrick Poivre d'Arvor: “I tell myself that maybe I was indelicate”

Asked about his vision of love, Claire Chazal's former partner did not wish to answer. “You won't hold it against me, but it's too intimate a subject to be offered to others. I had a great love story with my wife. Afterwards, I had a great love story with a woman with whom I had a child”, he indicated.

Questioned on the way he received the accumulation of testimonies from women targeting him, Patrick Poivre d'Arvor declared : “Çit depends. There are those for whom I say to myself Well yes, I don't understand why she's attacking me when she's never stopped praising me, and others where it's revenge. (…) When there is revenge, things are very clear, on the other hand for others, I questioned myself again. (…) I tell myself that maybe, I was indelicate. But really, it was never intentional and the relationships I had with these women were completely consensual and in no way violent. Very often, they repeated what they had read in Libération or the many newspapers that were interested”. According to the psychologist, he would not question himself.
