Head first on the asphalt

On Saturday, December 7, at 5:20 p.m., on Boulevard Paul-Valéry near the GGL Stadium, a 14-year-old boy, driving at a fairly high speed according to police findings, lost control of his vehicle. Thrown forward, he fell head first onto the asphalt. He was taken care of by emergency services in a serious condition. Although his prognosis is not life-threatening, the young man has significant head trauma. He was transported to the CHU under escort of the national police motorcyclists.

A 55-year-old man in intensive care

The next day, Sunday, December 8, a cyclist and a scooter rider coming face to face touched in front of 22, avenue de Maurin, near the René-Dumont park. While the first, aged 53, got up unharmed from his fall, the second, a 55-year-old man, suffered a violent blow to the head. A head trauma that is life-threatening. The fifty-year-old was admitted to the anesthesia-resuscitation department of the Lapeyronie University Hospital.

The national police reminds us of some safety rules for riding a scooter. On the one hand, the ban on unbridling your two-wheeler in order to increase its speed. On the other hand, wearing a helmet, which, although not mandatory, is highly recommended.
