'We believe this is the person we are looking for': Suspect arrested in New York murder of Brian Thompson

Un suspect a été arrêté ce 9 décembre 2024, dans l'affaire du meurtre de Brian Thompson, patron d'un géant de l'assurance santé américaine.

A suspect, Luigi Mangione, 26, was arrested Monday in the northeastern United States in the investigation into the street murder last Wednesday in New York of the boss of a giant American health insurance company, announced the police and the New York City Hall.

What happened ?

A man wearing a hoodie and ski mask was apparently waiting for Brian Thompson outside the Manhattan Hilton Hotel. That’s when the man shot him and fled.

The suspect initially left on foot, before later taking an electric bike. Authorities lost track of him around Central Park, where he was last seen. “Everything indicates that this was a premeditated, planned and targeted attack,”, New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch was quoted as saying by the BBC.
