Catherine Benguigui was anorexic

Invited on the set of Jordan De Luxe this Tuesday, December 10 on C8, Catherine Benguigui remembered, with nostalgia, having been a rebellious and “punk” high school student. After being kicked out of her high school three times for her eccentric outfits, it was in a religious establishment that she continued her education before trying her luck in Paris. “I was very thin when I was little and a teenager. I was even anorexic. I didn't like eating too much, she said.

And she continued: “When I arrived in Paris, I started studying and I don't know why, I started thinking I was too fat, even though I wasn't. And I started dieting. It was horrible. As a young girl, the actress, who had Charlotte Gainsbourg as a model, drastically restricted her diet. “I had started the grapefruit diets until I fainted in class and then I said: “I'm stopping!” […] I wasn't eating. I was only eating grapefruits, she added.

If she was anorexic, Catherine Benguigui now assumes her curves linked to age and to the “junk food” that she has adopted for several years. At 60, she assumes herself physically while recognizing that she must be careful. I've bloated a little. So now, I really have to be careful. I'm going to get back into sport”, she said.

And it's mainly for health reasons, more than appearance, that the actress decided to react. “Physically, when you're overweight, you walk less quickly. You're a little out of breath…”, she concluded, determined to pull herself together.
