TPMP: Jean-Michel Maire impacted by the media coverage of his drug addiction
Jean-Michel Maire then explained that he had been affected by the media coverage of his drug addiction on his private life. “I was traumatized by the fact that it had a repercussion, that there were articles in magazines and that my family found out about it through that, my children in particular. I had to deal with it”, he said. “I was still shaken”, he added.
It was therefore the media coverage that was the real trigger for him to stop using drugs. Jean-Michel Maire also confided that he would probably have continued to use drugs if his situation had not been made public. On September 25, Cyril Hanouna had lifted the veil on the reasons for Jean-Michel Maire's long absence in TPMP. “I had been hard on you and I had shaken you. I had told you: 'You're not coming back until you've solved your problem'”, had revealed the star presenter of C8 who also had a role in the withdrawal of his columnist.
