IN BRIEF

  • In 2007, during the European Swimming Championships in Debrecen, Laure Manaudou saw her intimate photos posted online, accusing her ex-partner Pierre-Henri.
  • In the podcast 'Les vagues', she described the blackmail she suffered, where her ex threatened to publish the photos if she didn't send more.
  • Laure Manaudou expresses her shame and anger, while fighting to erase these images from the Internet, revealing a poignant story of manipulation and resilience.

An episode of her life that she would rather forget… In 2007, while she was in the middle of the competition at the European Short Course Swimming Championships held in Debrecen in Hungary, Laure Manaudou saw her world collapse. And for good reason, her intimate photos were distributed on the internet. While she accuses her ex-partner of having published these photos, the main person concerned denies the facts with which he is accused.

Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in the podcast Les vagues, from Elle magazine, the former swimming star recalled: “I was training with my big brother, he was my coach and I remember telling him 'It's like I've been raped, I wasn't asked for my consent, I find myself naked in front of everyone and I have to do face ?'”. Horrified, she assured that her ex had blackmailed her. “He told me: 'If you don't send me a second photo, I'm going to publish this one'. So day after day, I found myself with more and more photos…”, she lamented.

Laure Manaudou: “Taking that in the face at 20 years old is complicated”

Émentioning her former boyfriend, Pierre-Henri, who is said to be behind the publication of these photos, Florent Manaudou's sister added : “I woke up one morning and told myself that I wasn't going to spend my life with this guy. So either I choose to leave, leave him and take the risk that these photos will come out one day, or I'm imprisoned all my life with him because he's threatening to release these photos”.

Monday, August 5, 2024, in the columns of Le Parisien, the former star of the pools had indicated : “Taking that in the mouth at 20 is complicated. You quickly come back down to earth. You're not in the Care Bears world anymore… I haven't been with thousands of guys, I've had three or four at that time, but it fascinated people…”.

Laure Manaudou: “I was stunned, overwhelmed with shame”

In her autobiography Entre les lignes, released in 2022, she remembered the day she learned that the photos were going to be published on the internet. “I was stunned, overwhelmed with shame (…) My only fear is that Manon (her daughter, editor's note) will see them when she is older. Everything else, the shame, the humiliation, the anger, çhas now become part of my story (…) For years, I have been paying a society who is responsible for deleting them from the Internet as soon as they resurface”, she had written.

Émentioning her ex-partner, Laure Manaudou had specified: “He gives me indiscations, demands poses, more and more daring, from every angle. And like a fool, I do what he tells me. In a tank top, in mini-shorts, then in briefs, in a thong, and finally nothing more. I’exleleave myself for the beautiful eyes of a boy I don't love anymore. Soon I'm completely naked, and even more than naked. I reveal my breasts, my buttocks, my sex”.
