This is a partnership described as “ unpublished ”. Canal+ has just announced that its subscribers will be entitled to a 30% discount to subscribe to Apple Music, the music streaming service of the brand with the apple.

Apple Music subscription at 7.69 euros

« Canal+ and Apple are pleased to announce that their strategic partnership is being strengthened, with a new Apple Music offer, available to Canal+ subscribers in mainland France, starting December 12. This offer is a first of its kind », the French group says. This confirms rumors that have been circulating for a few months, when an Internet user noticed that the subdomain apple-music.canalplus.com directed to the Canal+ store instead of an error page.

If you are a Canal+ subscriber, you can now sign up for an Apple Music subscription for 7.69 euros per month, instead of the usual 10.99 euros.

« Today, Apple Music, the award-winning service, celebrates musicians, songwriters, producers and fans with a catalog of over 100 million songs, curated playlists, interviews with top artists and global premieres with Apple Music Radio. With exclusive content created by top music experts, autoplay, synchronized lyrics, lossless audio and an immersive sound experience thanks to Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos, Apple Music offers the best listening experience in the world », Canal details in a press release.

With this new offer, the two companies are strengthening a partnership established in 2023. Since then, Canal+ subscribers have been able to access programs from the Apple streaming platform TV+ directly from myCANAL. “ I am proud and happy to announce the strengthening of our partnership with Apple, to the great delight of our subscribers “, writes Maxime Saada, the group's boss.

Canal+ wants to become a “ true aggregator ” of cultural content

This new agreement marks a significant step in the encrypted channel's development strategy. It confirms Canal+'s ambition to become ” a true aggregator ” of cultural content, expanding its offering well beyond traditional video content. A shift that illustrates its desire to meet the diverse expectations of consumers, while retaining an ever-wider user base.

On Apple's side, this should allow it to reach a much larger number of French users. Because if the Cupertino company does not communicate on the performance of its service in terms of users, only 16% of Internet users are subscribed to paid streaming services in France, according to figures from the National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing (Snep).

  • Canal+ announces the strengthening of its partnership with Apple.
  • Canal+ subscribers are now entitled to a 30% discount on Apple Music subscriptions.
  • The French group aims to become a super-aggregator of cultural content.
