Around fifty operating theatre professionals from the Nîmes University Hospital took part this Thursday, December 12, in the national mobilization of State-certified operating theatre nurses “to defend their specialization” with the CGT union. A rally took place in front of the school for state-certified operating room nurses.
This union organization provides details on the reasons for the movement: “To ensure optimal care in an operating room, you need a surgeon, an IBODE, a state-certified nurse. In 2019, to respond to the shortage of IBODEs, accreditation was given to nurses for three exclusive IBODE acts. This was not enough to compensate for the lack of staff. Today, the government, for reasons of economy, wants to increase accreditation to nurses, for all exclusive IBODE acts. […]”
The CGT fears that nurses will no longer have access to professional progression, the deterioration of professions of care, population care and recognition of a diploma. A delegation was received by representatives of the management.
