The public is invited to meet all weekend long, in a few streets in the city center of the capital of the Cévennes, in the Gard.

Grand’rue, rue de la République and rue Jan-Castagno, in the city center of Alès, the 27 exhibitors of the first Christmas market of the Vieil Alès association are indeed there, in the middle of the morning of this Saturday, December 14. And the organizer Cathia Kartobi is smiling: “Everyone seems happy. It's new, we'll see how it goes…” In any case, the public is already flocking to the neighborhood and stopping in front of the stands, sometimes joined by Santa Claus. Customers can move until 7 p.m.

Already looking to the future…

The market will continue on Sunday, December 15, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. “Events like these can boost the Grand’rue. It attracts people. We can see it; the marquees attract the eye”, notes Cathia Kartobi, who is already thinking about a second edition. Or even other events on themes such as Halloween or a flower market. “Always highlighting the craftsmanship, the creator, the producer!”
