Nîmes Olympique: (set) kicks that get lost, a passer who gets loose, approaching holidays, echoes of the Crocos

Issam Bouaoune, seen here in action at the Antonins against Boulogne, delivered his third assist of the season on Friday against Paris 13 Atletico. Midi Libre – Mikaël Anisset

Since the start of the season, Adil Hermach's men have been vulnerable in set pieces.

The goals are piling up in set pieces…

After Sochaux, Valenciennes and Bourg-Péronnas, Paris 13 Atletico. Nîmes conceded its fourth penalty of the season on Friday, December 13, in Paris 13, the third away from home. The four – all successful – were whistled during the last twenty minutes of the second half.

The Crocos, who also conceded four times after a corner and once after a free kick, conceded nine goals from set pieces, or 69.2% of the total.

… and in the second half

It is in the second half that Nîmes Olympique is the most vulnerable. Of the thirteen goals conceded, nine were actually conceded after the break, which is also 69.2% of the total. Of these thirteen goals conceded, four were conceded in the last quarter of an hour.

Opening the score is not a certainty of victory

Succeeding in scoring first is not a certainty of victory. In front of Paris 13 Atletico, Friday evening, Nîmes Olympique opened the scoring for the sixth time this season, the first away, for a final record of 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat.

Bouaoune best passer

Issam Bouaoune delivered his third assist in front of Paris 13. The third in favor of Oussama Abdeljelil even if the goal, because the ball was deflected by Diarra, the Parisian captain, was not awarded to the crocodile striker by the FFF, thus depriving him of his sixth achievement.

Bouaoune had managed his first two assists at the Stade des Antonins against Châteauroux (1-0, 2nd day) and Boulogne (2-0, 10th day). The attacking midfielder who arrived from Montlouis (National 3) this summer is the best Croco in this exercise.

Not yet the holidays

The Nîmes, who had started the year with an elimination in Orléans (2-1) in the 32nd round of the Coupe de France, therefore ended it in the Championship with a draw at Paris 13 Atletico (1-1). In official competition, they will not play again before January 10, 2025 and the reception of AS Nancy, leader of the National.

Even though the truce is here, Adil Hermach's men are not on vacation. They will still work for a short week, until Friday, December 20 inclusive. They will rest for six days and will meet again on Friday, December 27 at La Bastide.

Before facing Nancy, they will play, normally on Saturday, January 4, a friendly match against Étoile FC Fréjus – Saint-Raphaël, currently 6th in group A of National 2. A match a priori on a neutral ground, halfway between the two cities.
