Going to the doctor or any other specialist will cost more. In 3 days, starting on December 22, 2024 to be precise, the 2024-2029 medical agreement comes into force.
Signed between the Health Insurance and private doctors, this agreement aims to “improve the working conditions of doctors, encourage them to set up in private practice, and ultimately, enable quality and long-term monitoring for insured persons”, summarizes the Health Insurance.
The first strong measures are the revaluations of consultations.
How much will it cost ?
General practitioner
The consultation increases from €26.50 to €30.
Gynecologist
The consultation with the medical gynecologist thus increases from €33.50 to €40 (€37 on December 22, 2024, the increase is done in two stages)
Psychiatrist
The consultation with the psychiatrist increases from €51.70 to €57 with the psychiatrist, initially €55 on December 22, 2024.
Pediatrician

With the general practitioner, the child's follow-up consultation is also increased to €35 for those under 6 years old. In pediatrics, mandatory consultations, covered at 100%, are revalued to €60 compared to €47.5 currently (€54 from December 22, 2024). A new pediatric expert consultation, at €60, will be created on July 1, 2025 for children aged 0 to 16. “Accessible by referral (from a doctor, school doctor, PMI, midwife, speech therapist or orthoptist), it will strengthen early detection and monitoring of developmental disorders, chronic pathologies or complex situations requiring coordinated and targeted care”, describes Health Insurance.
Dermatologist
The consultation increases to €37 (compared to €33.50 today), then to €40 in July 2025, according to BFM.
Geriatrician
The consultation increases from €31.5 to €37 (€42 in July 2025). The one-off consultant opinion will increase to €67.50.
Endocrinologist
The complex consultation will increase to €58 from €53.5 (and €62 in July 2025).
Neurologist
The visit will increase to €55 from €51.70 today, then €57 in July 2025.
Physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists
The consultation will be €36 from €31.50 today (€40 in July 2025).
What coverage?
These increases will be covered by Health Insurance and supplementary health insurance. “They will improve the remuneration of these medical specialties, whose incomes are among the lowest and have been stagnating for several years”, underlines the Health Insurance website.
