When Denaja gets excited on the lifeboat
During the Sète municipal council meeting on Monday 16 December, when the motion requesting the classification of sea rescue as UNESCO intangible heritage was being voted on, Sébastien Denaja recalled the Region's support for the Sète SNSM station, pointing out that the institution had “fully” financed the new lifeboat. In fact, this is not the case. Of the €1.30 million bill from Admiral Leenhardt, the Total Foundation was the largest external contributor with €320,000, ahead of the City of Sète (€300,000) and… the Region (€270,000).
Chichois on emergency housing
During the preliminary questions before the municipal council on Monday in Sète – this time they lasted only half an hour compared to an hour and a half during the previous session (!) – opposition councillor Laura Seguin mentioned emergency housing and the fact that neither Sète nor Frontignan had opened new beds despite the cold. And to note that “80% of requests for emergency housing are not answered”. Jocelyne Gizardin, the elected official in charge of social affairs, responded that if necessary, depending on the Prefecture's decision “the Marquès hall is ready, but in our country, it is the SUS that manages this type of housing. And it is not full. As for the unfilled requests, it is not our fault if the housing offered is not suitable for people.”

20 years of the agglomeration: a statue in the Simone-Veil park
As part of the 20th anniversary of the agglomeration and the project to place 20 statues throughout the territory to create circuits of “Artistic Walks in the Mediterranean”, the City of Sète will host a work by Françoise Petrovitch called In my hands. The municipality validated its location, during the last municipal council. This creation will take place in the Simone-Veil park, in other words that of the Château d'eau.
