Isabelle Nanty: What part of her career has she given up?

Alongside cinema, Isabelle Nanty has long éscoured the stage. The public is less familiar with her talent as a director, moving from the classical repertoire (The Seagull by Anton Chekhov, The Hotel of Free Exchange by Feydeau) to stand-up (Gad Elmaleh, Virginie Hocq). We will find her backstage in Dany Boon's new show, Clown is not a job!!.

“I'm only here to support him in his accomplishment”, insists the actress who will be in the cast of God Save the Tuche next February. Coming back to the front of the stage ? It's absolutely out of the question… For health reasons. I don't do any more plays, the exercise eats me up, she explains. It's too stressful. I don't sleep anymore, I'm gaining weight and you have to look relaxed.”

Isabelle Nanty: “I was a usurpation”

Isabelle Nanty wears more than one hat. The actress who attended the Cours Florent was a theater teacher for four years. As a teacher, I was a usurpation, she believes. I've met some real ones, like Francis Huster”.

When asked for her golden rule, Dany Boon's accomplice stumbles: “After forty years in the professional, I still don't know how to play!” One thing is certain, however: only “trust and love” help to unblock an actor on stage, “never violence or authority”. “I only remember the great encounters and the fun I had doing my job”, concludes the one who says above all she loves life and makes herself useful to others.
