Des mascottes, trois chars et de la musique étaient au programme de ce mardi 24 décembre, pour la dernière parade de cette année 2024.
Like little Jullian and his parents, “who came especially”, many families are making the trip to the heart of Alès, on this afternoon of Tuesday, December 24, to follow the last Christmas parade of this year 2024. At the bottom of Boulevard Louis-Blanc, where the procession is getting ready to leave, Viviane Bourgade arrives from the Clavières district with her granddaughter Klara, aged 5, to attend the show. “I'm coming to see Stitch… and also the other characters”, smiles the little girl. And she is spoiled since her favorite mascot is there, accompanied by others, such as Minnie, Mickey, Hulk, etc. “It's very nice; the characters are very affectionate with children”, notes the grandmother. “Afterwards, we'll go to the rides at the funfair.”
The Snow Queen and Santa Claus are stars
The parade gets underway, escorted by the municipal police. Some follow it; others stop at the side of the road to watch it go by… To open, the peña del Fuego gives the “la”; it is followed by the mascots, therefore, and the group One Stage. All are favored by passers-by, as are the three floats presented. After the first one embodying a giant turtle celebrating Christmas, the second one, carrying the Snow Queen, attracts the attention of the children. But that is nothing compared to the person enthroned on the last one. For good reason, it is Santa Claus, who never stops greeting the crowd and addressing them with hearts formed with his fingers…
“And after the parade, tonight: Santa Claus!”
The streets of the center are not teeming with people; we imagine that many are taking care of the last preparations for Christmas Eve. Raphaël Vasquez, the head of the city's festivities department, sums it up by turning to a little girl: “And after the parade, tonight: Santa Claus!” In the middle of the afternoon, everyone knows that the youngest are eagerly awaiting him…
