La police a indiqué vendredi matin avoir procédé à 62 arrestations dans la nuit pendant des heurts après un match de Ligue Europa jeudi soir entre l’Ajax et le Maccabi Tel-Aviv, faisant au moins cinq blessés.

“So far, it is known that five people have been taken to hospital and 62 people have been arrested,”, Amsterdam police said on X.

Israel's new foreign minister, Gideon Sa'ar, will soon travel to Amsterdam for an “urgent diplomatic visit” after Thursday night's clashes, his office announced on Friday.

“In light of the serious events, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar will soon leave for an urgent diplomatic visit to the Netherlands,”, the ministry said in a communiqué.

A first plane of Israeli supporters has taken off from Amsterdam

On the social network X, Mr. Saar, newly appointed, denounced “terrible barbaric and anti-Semitic terrorist attacks” which “are a resounding alarm signal for Europe and the whole world”.

A first plane intended to repatriate Israeli citizens from Amsterdam took off Friday from Ben Gurion airport, near Tel Aviv, a spokeswoman for the airport authorities told AFP Israeli.
