The traditional end-of-year celebrations having been consumed, the cultural programming of the Cratère resumes in mid-January with a series of shows where theater has a special place. Moreover, the first general public show is that of the Cabaret de carton with three performances of “Les gros patinent bien” with a duo of ineffable, Olivier Martin-Salvan and Pierre Guillois (January 17, 18 and 19). In this duo, one is puny, while the other is generous, and he struggles to express himself. For more than an hour, he expresses himself with the help of daubed cardboard posters and other cardboard boxes always more or less correctly cut. A few days later, it is theater with “La question”based on the work of Henri Alleg, with a solo performance by actor Stanislas Nordey (January 21). The latter comments: “This text denounces the use of torture by the French army during the Battle of Algiers. It was censored for a long time by the French state. I was totally captivated, challenged by Henri Alleg's words. They echo emotions that have been running through me for a long time: my grandfather was a member of the Resistance during the Second World War.”

For live music fans, we can look forward to the arrival of Nora Granovsky who will bring Janis Joplin back to life (January 24). This is a show in which she will gradually weave a story that mixes her intimate relationship with Janis and biographical elements of the singer's life. And at the end of the month (January 28 and 29), the Ballet de Lorraine will offer two inspired works: “Twelve ton rose” by Trisha Brown, with music by Anton Webern, and “Static shot” by Maud le Platec. The latter explains: “I imagined a choreographic device borrowing from cinema certain editing and assembly processes. I work on the piece like a fixed shot, or sequence shot, where the movement and the gaze would never stop.”
Les petites formes
The room next door will also be put to use with a series of diverse performances that testify to the creative wealth of our time. On January 10 and 11, the Grand Cerf Bleu company returns with “Monade” or the story of a knight in search of masculinity. Followed by “Un homme sans titre” by Xavier Le Clerc, to meet up with the French history of immigration (January 14 and 15). Then, a new Midi Lyrique (January 17) where Emmanuelle De Négri offers a Schubertiade. But more live music with “L’Odyssée” by Homer, told to children by the company Tire pas la nappe (January 22). While on January 29, Fabien Coulon will host an object theater in “Les petits touts”.
