IN BRIEF

  • Patrick Poivre d'Arvor has disappeared from the public sphere since the accusations hanging over his head.
  • According to his former colleague Jean-François Pré, he would have disappeared from circulation.
  • No one knows where is located PPDA.

An earthquake of unprecedented magnitude shook the PAF more than a year ago. In December 2023, Patrick Poivre d'Arvor was indicted for rape. The serious (alleged) facts of which he was accused were described in detail in the complaint filed by the police following the testimony of her accuser and colleague, Florence Porcel.

If the complaint was dismissed without further action, due to “insufficient evidence”, the journalist's speaking out prompted other women to break the silencesince then. More than twenty have made similar accusations against PPDA, more than ten have filed complaints against him, including eight for rape. Several investigations have been closed without further action.

PPDA: what has become of the former TF1 star ?

PPDA's public and media appearances have been relatively rare in recent times. No one seems to be able to get news of the man who has long embodyed the face of the TF1 news. Invited on Chez Jordan this Friday, January 10, his former colleague Jean-François Pré confided that he could not reach him.

“I thinkhe doesn't answer anyone anymore because I ask my former colleagues from TF1 that he knew well:'Do you have any news from Patrick ? No', he declared. Claire Chazal's ex-partner would have simply vanished into thin air: We don't know where he is”. “It's terrible. A guy like that, who was adored by the whole of France…”, considers Jean-François Pré in his interview with Jordan de Luxe.

PPDA: was the TF1 channel aware of ?

The question haunts both the alleged victims of PPDA and the political sphere. Director of information at TF1 between 1996 and 2008, Robert Namias, himself, assures not to have seen or heard anything. “We necessarily missed something à TF1, I missed something”, he admitted however during his hearing by the National Assembly's inquiry commission on sexual violence in cinema and the audiovisual sector last November.

The journalist immediately assured: “We did not imagine for a moment that there could be such crimes committed TF1”. And to insist: “I was never informed of anything […] If we had had the slightest conviction, he would have had to leave the company immediately”. Patrick Poivre d'Arvor remains to this day presumed innocent.
