This Saturday, the young firefighters of Millau received t-shirts offered by the Templiers and Ixthus, two partners. In Millau, 11 young people have embraced this course, there are 84 in the department, in eight different sections. During these years with a uniform but no rank, these young people are trained to be able, if they wish, to join a fire station once they reach the age of majority. “It is a civic and citizen commitment of our young generations, underlines David Pintre, in charge of these young people in Millau. This program allows them to train effectively in rescue and security missions, thus making them want to get involved in volunteering or pursue a career as a firefighter.”

Despite the fact that some of them are trained in first aid, they do not yet intervene in the field alongside the professional or volunteer firefighters of the Millau barracks. “At the end of their course, they receive additional training, particularly on fires, which they cannot do minor”, continues David Pintre. They are welcomed from the age of 13 or 14 in this training.
