4,222 night runners with short and long strides for the Montpellier Urban Trail

Ce samedi soir, de Port-Marianne au Peyrou, pour des boucles de 7 ou 12 km.

4,222 bibs distributed on this Urban trail in Montpellier, that's the record. And that's a lot of runners, whether at the start, in front of the town hall, or at the Échelles de la Ville, where there was a traffic jam. Everyone went with their stride, their smile, their disguise. And while many participated for fun, the very first to cross the finish line was Zian Quere. Yes, Zian is the first name! “It comes from the mountain”, appreciates the athlete, a 3rd year Staps student. Montpellier athletics triathlon did well to offer him the bib, it honored him. And his opponents were able to admire him although the young man arrived with more than a minute and a half ahead of his 7 km.

Others, and the vast majority therefore, were there to have fun. Like Agathe's gang. Well, to be honest, Agathe didn't run this Saturday night. But she used the fog horn to encourage her gang of friends who came from Boutonnet. On Friday, around a meal, there were six registered. In the end, four more were tempted at the last minute. This is also the spirit of this meeting.

The fastest

On the 12 km, Morgan False (Alès) won the race. in 42’14 for men and Nathalie Gay (N.C.) for women in 47’21.

On the 7 km, Zian Quere (Montpellier Triathlon section Mireval) won  in 25’54 for boys. In the girls' race, Pauline Landron (Vendôme) ran in 31’01.
