The business is currently closed for major renovations. Customers should be able to return by the end of the month.

But what could the fences erected in recent days be hiding, all around the legendary brasserie in the heart of the city ? A new advertising shoot ? Not really… Since this Sunday, December 12, La Grande Bourse has been getting a makeover opposite the Arenas.

Closed for two weeks

Contacted, Hubert Ratel, the owner of the place, explained: “The windows and the floor had been in place since….1975. So the time had come to start major work!”, explained this Tuesday afternoon, the shopkeeper who welcomed his last customers on Sunday December 12 at 4 p.m.

Since then barricaded, completely surrounded by palisades, the Brasserie de l'hypercentre has turned into a real construction site, out of sight.

“From 6 p.m. on Sunday, the workers began painting the ceilings… On the floor, the historic tiles will soon give way to stone. With, right in the center, a magnificent black marble cabochon!”, concludes Hubert Ratel, who hopes to be able to welcome his customers back to the premises by the end of the month.
