“Le rayonnement de la ville se fera grâce au patrimoine” analyse une Bagnolaise. Midi Libre – C. C.
A l'issue du discours du maire, rencontre avec des habitants.
After the speech by Mayor Jean-Yves Chapelet, the evening continued in a friendly atmosphere.
And the people of Bagnolais, what do they wish for their city and their fellow citizens?? This is the question we asked about ten of them. Verbatim.
Martine: “More solidarity. The city's influence will be achieved through heritage. I am in favor of the museum and the reopening of the tourist office. The current exhibition is magnificent, but the museum is not mentioned on the signs.”
Jean: “We are staying because we are very involved in associations. For a mayor, it is difficult to unite with the problems of delinquency. It is not through urban renovation that things will change. It improves a little but…”
Laurence: “Consciousness, presence, attention and right action.”
Michèle and Lily: “A lot of conviviality! Mutual aid.”
Luc: “Stability in other countries of the world. That could reassure us.”
Gorette: “Let us rise towards the positive and let the Bagnolais grumble less, let him look at the sun instead of looking at the darkness.”
Dimitri: “Give more for the associations.”
Point of deal: “I can't take it anymore”
A group of five ladies: “A lot more shops.” “A more lively Rue de la République.” “Maybe one day the bypass. I live after the Cèze bridge…”
Éric. “I only have one wish, that the Fr2 report is not just an announcement. I live right across from the Escanaux drug dealing point and I can't stand hearing screams at night, police sirens, the ruckus anymore… In 2025, the mayor must strike hard and twist the arm of these thugs. I hope for more patrols and with more responsibility taken by politicians and police officers. These thugs are corrupting our neighborhoods and elected officials must protect us.”
Anny: “The end of the dealers. I have a studio in Escanaux. I haven't been able to rent it for two years. ”
Cycle paths
Jacques: “Have a cleaner city. A tourist office, and make it visible.”
Louis: “An indoor swimming pool, it's not normal that the children in our town can't learn to swim. Develop cycle paths in the city to cycle more safely.”
Sébastien: “Better waste management for a cleaner city. Make the city centre more attractive to stop seeing businesses die one after the other.”
“I see progress”
Karine. “I have a fair amount of confidence in the municipal team. They love their city and it shows. The cultural level is developing very well and that's important, especially for our young people. There's a real open-mindedness. And then, the city is looking to the future with geothermal energy and the replacement of road signs. I arrived ten years ago and I see progress and people who are working hard.
The only downside: I think that shopkeepers aren't supported enough, especially new ones. No one has opened a shop for years.”
