Tobacco: after that of January 1, a new increase in the price of cigarette packets expected very soon

As of February 1, 2025, an increase in the price of cigarette packets is expected. Here are some examples of increases.

After an initial increase on January 1, 2025, the price of tobacco will increase again on February 1, according to our colleagues at La Dépêche, who are relaying information from customs.

Although this increase does not affect all brands, the prices of some packets will increase by 20 to 50 cents. The increase also affects some brands of rolling tobacco. Some smokers will therefore have to pay up to €13.50 for certain packets.

12 million

In a few figures, there are 12 million French people who smoke daily. Each year, tobacco causes the death of 75,000 people.

Which brands are affected ?

For example, smokers of 20-unit Dunhill reds will have to pay €13.50 instead of €13.20. The Gauloises Blondes Bleu, will go from €12.30 to €12.50. As for the Bastos rouges, in 20 units, they will go from €11.00 to €11.20. As for rolling tobacco, the Fleur du Pays 1937 in 30g, will go from €17.30 to €17.40.
