If there was still any doubt, life is good in Aveyron. Especially for holidaymakers – who come in large numbers every year – who are concerned about more sustainable and responsible tourism. This year 2025, nine establishments in the department have obtained the Clef Verte label. Among them, the campsite of the Saint-Rome-de-Tarn nautical base is the only one from South Aveyron.
Water management, energy, environmental awareness, living environment… so many criteria necessary to obtain this distinction that 2,428 establishments have ticked across the entire national territory. In 2024, 1,665 had obtained it. And this new year, the Occitanie region is pulling out all the stops by being among the first with 255 distinguished establishments.
“Our labeling is very much appreciated”
As for the campsite at the Saint-Rome-de-Tarn nautical base, this is not its first time. “This is the third consecutive year that the establishment has been distinguished,” indicates Vanille Forges, a member of the team. We are starting the process with the organization to obtain the label.”
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000Agents then go on site to check compliance with the announced criteria. For the campsite at the nautical base, beyond those required by the Clef Verte organization, the members of the establishment were keen to check others. Namely, “our energy consumption or the purchase of local and seasonal products for example”, explains the employee of the establishment managed by Boris Verpraet.
Hold for three years, does the label have an impact on attendance? “Not necessarily, explains Vanille Forges. Our approach was mainly part of promoting our values around respect for the environment and biodiversity. But we have already had some feedback. Our label is very much appreciated by customers.”
An international label
Developed by the sustainable development education association Teragir, the label is present on five continents and 76 countries. It is the first in international sustainable tourism for tourist accommodation and restaurants. Just that!
As for the criteria, they are “established at the international level and reviewed every five years with the aim of taking into account technological progress and environmental issues”, explains Teragir. In short, a distinction that gives meaning to the work carried out by an entire team in favor of ecology.
