She is currently at on M6 in the show The Island. Nathalie Marquay gives all her energy during this survival show. During an interview with Malika Ménard, in Souvenirs d’écolier, the former beauty queen looked back on her childhood, her schooling and her ties with her family.
Very close to her big sister, Myriam, she no longer speaks with her brother. “Unfortunately, it's been 7-8 years since we haven't spoken to each other”,says Nathalie Marquay, without however going into detail about this family quarrel. And if Jean-Pierre Pernaut's widow is in the spotlight, his parents and his brothers and sisters preferred remain anonymous.

Having grown up in Alsace, Nathalie Marquay says that her entire family is still present in this region: “My sister and my parents still live in Alsace“. Although she grew up in the northeast, the former Miss France was born in the north of France: “&At the end of the mining activity, we came to settle in the industrial region of Mulhouse”, she confided.
During this interview, the mother of Tom and Lou Pernaud also remembers having éa rather rebellious student. And her father, a mechanic, and her mother “housewife” had a hard time twist to educate him. “I was a terrible child, raised hard – they were right. I couldn't stand orders. It's true that I wasn't allowed to go out with friends, even though they all gathered in front of my house. […] I had to do the ironing, work on my lessons…”, she confides.

But the one who hates authority had not hesitated to run away from home, at the age of 12. On her bike and with “a huge suitcase”, she had gone to the forest. The reason ? She was very afraid of showing her bad school report to her parents. Thus, Nathalie Marquay says it herself, she was a turbulent child.
However, this fiery character did not prevent her from making a career and having children with Jean-Pierre Pernaut, the man of her life. And it is with great kindness that she educated Tom and Lou.
