Slimane in custody: investigation into sexual assaults of which he is accused continues

Accused of sexual assault, the singer Slimane was questioned by the police. The investigation against him is ongoing.

The investigation continues. While the singer Slimane is accused of sexual assault, he was questioned by the police last week. According to AFP information, it was in Saint-Etienne that the judicial police received him on Monday, January 20, 2025. Under the custody regime, Slimane was questioned as part of a preliminary investigation opened in November 2024.

As a reminder, this investigation follows the complaints of two technicians who worked on his tour called “Cupidon Tour”. In October and November 2024, both accused the 35-year-old singer of sexual assault. The facts date back to December 17, 2023, just after the end of a concert given at the Zenith in Saint-Etienne. The first complainant assured to have received pornographic messages and videos from the singer. The second, for his part, claimed having experienced an assault in the presence of witnesses.

Slimane accused of sexual assault: two other testimonies to the charge

Since the media coverage of these cases, Slimane has refuted these accusations and remained silent. The singer and father benefits from the presumption of innocence while awaiting the results of the investigation. But his career, as well as his personal life, have taken a big hit. In the columns of Le Parisien, a producer had also made some statements that did not work in his favor.  “Slimane is not an aggressor, he's a plugger, but he has a drinking problem, and that makes him impulsive and uninhibited at after-shows and parties,” he had declared.

Absent from the next tour of the Enfoirés, Slimane was then the target of other accusations. It was the newspaper Médiapart that had brought to light two other testimonies.  Although they have not taken legal action for these facts, the journalists specify, the two anonymous individuals nevertheless point out “the similarities with the complaints targeting the artist”.

Slimane continues his tour

Despite the affair, Slimane continues his world tour across Europe and North America. After Berlin, London and Milan, he will fly to Canada at the end of February before reaching Miami.
