Five pillars in Hérault
After praising Hérault's talents last year, André Deljarry has this time highlighted the “five pillars” of the department. Renewable energies, the blue economy with 110 km of coastline, cultural and creative industries, digital and artificial intelligence and finally MedVallée. Five sectors of activity that create jobs and therefore wealth for the department. “A department that saw 10,000 companies created in 2024 and exceed the 100,000 mark in total”, eluding bankruptcies in passing. Referring to the difficulties in the construction sector, he welcomed “these major structuring projects like the Lien, the COM, the extension of line 1 and the commissioning of line 5, the work on the Esplanade and at the CHU which are all strong signs that give momentum to the territory”. He also mentioned commerce which he acknowledged “will never be the same again” because of new modes of consumption on the internet. He called for a rethink of the models in the hotel and catering industry and invited Hérault business leaders to export themselves. “Dare to go international!”
