Winter transfer window: MHSC recruits striker Nicolas Pays, one of its executioners from Puy-en-Velay in the Coupe de France

The young 21-year-old striker or midfielder, Nicolas Pays, the great architect of Hérault's humiliation in the round of 32 of the Coupe de France with the Auvergnats, will be Montpellier's second recruit during the transfer window after Andy Delort.

It is not one, but two recruits who are preparing to join Montpellier before the end of the transfer window. In addition to the center forward Andy Delort (33 years old), who passes the medical examination on Tuesday January 28 before returning to Hérault, the young striker or attacking midfielder from Puy-en-Velay Nicolas Pays will also strengthen Jean-Louis Gasset's squad. And, partly to compensate, the transfers of Akor Adams (FC Seville) and Arnaud Nordin (Mainz).

He caught Gasset's eye

Nicolas Pays (21 years old), author of one of the four Auvergne goals, had caught the eye of the Montpellier coach during the humiliation in the 32nd final of the Coupe de France (4-0). “For Nicolas Pays, it would have been as if the pitch was not bumpy”, he was surprised.

No transfer fee

According to l’Éveil de la Haute-Loire, Montpellier will not pay any transfer fee since the young player did not have a federal contract. And for good reason, he joined Le Puy, a National 2 club, a year and a half ago from a Regional 1 club: Blavozy.

If Nicolas Pays, author of six goals in all competitions (21 matches), climbs the ladder four at a time, he remains an investment for the future. And forces Montpellier to acquire a new winger, in place of Arnaud Nordin. Unless Tanguy Coulibaly, who came on Sunday in Toulouse, returns to the circuit.
