Medhi Benatia, Marseille's sporting director, was suspended for three months, and Lille president Olivier Létang for one month for their behavior at the end of the round of 16 of the Coupe de France won by Losc on January 14, a source close to the FFF said on Thursday.

Suspended by the disciplinary committee

The two leaders were suspended by the disciplinary committee of the French Football Federation (FFF), the same source indicated, confirming information from L'Equipe.

The end of the match between Marseille and Lille at the Vélodrome (1-1, Lille qualified on penalties) had been very tense around the benches with the intervention of Olivier Létang and the exclusion of Medhi Benatia for vehement remarks against the fourth official.

The two leaders had already been suspended as a precautionary measure on January 23, before the final sanction was taken on Thursday. Contacted by AFP, Medhi Benatia's lawyer did not react immediately.
