“For seven years, we have been denouncing a lack of basic resources to meet the needs of the population.” The CGT and FO have just filed an unlimited strike notice in the emergency room of the Montpellier University Hospital starting Wednesday, February 5.

According to the unions, “5,600 additional visits (+8.5%) were recorded in 2023. Staff continue to denounce the lack of upstream facilities, downstream beds, boxes and additional staff and unsuitable premises. Users are treated with unacceptable waiting times unworthy of a university hospital.”

“Staff are demanding additional staff for themselves and patients. Management should study the relevance of this request during the F3SCT (specialized training in health, safety and working conditions) on February 4.”

The renovation of emergencies will begin in 2028

“The resilience of medical staff being at an end, following the numerous mobilizations carried out over several years and faced with the recurrence of their difficulties, the agents have therefore asked the CGT and FO to file this strike notice. The staff's demands remain unchanged pending renovation work which will begin in… 2028.”

The unions announce a gathering on Wednesday, February 5 at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Lapeyronie emergency room.
