The voice of cycling, Daniel Mangeas (75 years old), from Le Mans, will not be a speaker for the 55th edition of the Étoile de Bessèges due to health problems.

The iconic voice of the Tour de France between 1974 and 2014, who remained a star speaker in France, Daniel Mangeas (75 years old) has suffered a stroke, announces Le Méridional. He will not be able to attend the Étoile de Bessèges from February 5 to 9.

His family has nevertheless been reassuring about the health of the man who commentated on his fiftieth and final French championship, last June.

He will be replaced in the commentary by Daniel Martin on the Gard race, the usual speaker of the Tour de France since 2014.
