Béziers rugby club at the heart of the shocking documentary by L’Équipe

The Béziers club at the heart of the documentary. Midi Libre – SYLVIE CAMBON

Released on January 25 and broadcast this Monday, February 3 in the evening, “The house burns”, the documentary by L’Équipe on the excesses of rugby, highlights in particular the cases of domestic violence involving Hans Nkinsi and Taleta Tupuola, the players of ASBH.

The Béziers rugby club, and in particular its player Hans Nkinsi, are at the heart of the documentary by L’Équipe, made on the excesses of rugby. Entitled “La maison brûle”, it was broadcast this Monday, February 3 and remains available, in replay, on the website of the national daily, for its subscribers. Through, among other things, the testimony of Doriane, his former partner, the ASBH second row, who appealed a new conviction for domestic violence, before the Béziers court on December 16, 2024, is particularly singled out. Hans Nkinsi is described as a violent partner, especially when he has drunk alcohol.

A look back at the hectic third half in Vannes

Sébastien Tarrago and Jules Bian-Rosa, the directors of the documentary, also interviewed the manager of the hotel where the Béziers team stayed in Vannes last May, when they went to play the Pro D2 semi-final. He recounts having witnessed, in his establishment, a hectic end to the third half of some players from the Béziers team. He accuses, among others, Hans Nkinsi (who filed a complaint for racist remarks against him) of having threatened to kill his wife.

The documentary also returns to domestic violence, for which the Taleta Tupuola center was sentenced to 14 months suspended prison sentence and questions the fact that Pierre Caillet, the coach, would have tried to minimize the facts.

A report that the ASBH managers “do not wish to comment on.” But which is causing a lot of talk.
