Un influenceur a provoqué un véritable tollé en Chine après avoir maltraité un chien jusqu’à le tuer en plein direct.

The incident dates back to January 19, when Pan Hong, an influencer with 16.6 million subscribers known for his channel “Pan Hong Loves Playing with Dogs,” posted a video online of himself killing a dog live on air, according to the South China Morning Post (SCMP).

Slapped and forcibly muzzled live on air

Pan Gong runs a training center and offers his services free of charge to dog owners.

In a video broadcast live on the Douyin network (similar to TikTok) on January 19, the influencer is seen giving Aite, an Alaskan malamute “star” from the center, a bath with his assistant. But that's when everything changes.

During the live stream, viewers noticed worrying signs, including when the dog began to struggle. The videographer then muzzled it with zip ties, SCMP reported.

As the animal continued to struggle and gasp, Pan Hong slapped it in front of horrified viewers. Despite repeated warnings, Pan Hong continued to wash the animal until it became immobile.

“Violent and Evil Hobby”

The influencer eventually stated later that day that Aite had passed away, attributing his death to old age and pre-existing heart conditions. Pan Hong even added that the tether was necessary to prevent the dog from biting people.

He also apologized to his community: “I am the one to blame, so if you want to criticize, just address it to me. To all the fans of Aite and its original owner, I offer my sincere apologies. Aite's life has come to an end and I will personally handle all follow-up matters privately,” the apology reads.

The videographer has been heavily criticized by netizens, with some denouncing that Pan Hong “is only using his profession as a cover for his violent and evil hobby.”
