Prime Minister François Bayrou has survived the two motions of censure filed by LFI concerning the State budget for Social Security. In response, La France Insoumise has unveiled a photo montage with Olivier Faure and Marine Le Pen.

After the two rejections of the motions of censure against the Bayrou government, La France Insoumise has stepped up to denounce the PS's choice. To do this, a poster was posted online on social networks by the party where the faces of Olivier Faure and Marine Le Pen can be seen.

“Unworthy and shameful”

The socialists' choice not to vote for the motions of censure was seen as an alliance with the RN by LFI. As can be seen on the visual broadcast on X (ex-Twitter) in blue, white and red, the two faces of the party leaders, Emmanuel Macron's head in the background, with an inscription: “2 censures not voted by the PS and the RN, the new alliances”.

The main person concerned [Olivier Faure] quickly reacted on his account, with a clear and concise message. “The time for apologies will probably come”, we can read. LFI's attack did not fail to make other people in the French political sphere react.

“This visual is unworthy and shameful. No strategic disagreement, no tactical divergence could excuse such a stinking amalgamation with regard to the brown plague that we are all fighting, in all the components of the NFP”, indicated Pierrick Courbon, PS deputy.

Even the former member of La France insoumise was outraged by the poster. “Never since 1945, even during the worst renunciations of the PS, during the Algerian War and Guy Mollet, and many other dark moments, has a left-wing organization ever produced a visual putting a fascist and the leader of the PS on the same level.”

LFI's response

Invited onto the BFMTV set this Thursday morning, Mathilde Panot tried to explain herself following the controversy. We have never made an equivalence between the Socialist Party and the far-right of the Rally. They have nothing in common, I say this so that it is clear. On the other hand, there is a common responsibility”, she declared on the set in front of the journalist Apolline de Malherbe.

“I will apologize to Olivier Faure when he has apologized for having passed a budget as violent as this one”, she added. However, the tweet published by the LFI group was deleted from the official account.
