IN BRIEF
- On November 24, a new biography of Alain Delon by Bernard Violet is published, revealing little-known aspects of his life.
- According to a privileged witness, the future star had a bad encounter during his service military.
- The man in question will never give more details on this “serious incident”.
On November 24, a new biography of Alain Delon appeared in bookstores. In Le Derniers Mystères Delon, Bernard Violet “deciphers the deep inner workings of a much-discussed, but often little-known life”, says publisher Robert Laffont. The result of an investigation carried out over twenty years, the book lifts the veil on little-known aspects of the actor of Guetard.
The first cover of the book evokes in particular his military service carried out between Pont-Réan, in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine, and Les Bormettes, east of Toulon. The reader meets a certain Raymond Blasco, trained alongside the future star “to fight, or rather to be transformed into cannon fodder”. “The CFM [Centre de Formation de la Marine, editor's note], it was: do or die”, sums up this privileged witness.

Raymond Blasco never again crossed paths with the star of Plein soleil. “I followed his professional career through the press, he tells Bernard Violet. I read his many interviews.” Throughout his readings, the press portrays a different man from the “boy” that the ex-soldier knew the army.
The latter then remembers “da serious incident that occurred at Pont-Réan“. He recounts evasively : “That day, Alain was ran into a bastard, a rotten“. What really happened ? Bernard Violet won't know more. “Blasco could reveal it, but only if the star gave him permission”. Alain Delon died last August, this very bad encounter will remain secret forever.
Alain Delon: charming but ill-bred ?
Bernard Violet does not necessarily praise the father of Anthony, Anouchka and Alain-Fabien Delon in his book. “He was a man of great complexity. He could be both charming and ill-bred, fragile and vulnerable, at both egocentric and generous, solitary and a great lord”, explains the biographer in an interview given to Le Parisien last August.
According to him, the actor will have left, “an impressive and fantastic filmography, of international renown”, “many questions about the troubled character he was, fascinated through the middle” as well as “the memory of an autocrat who became a star”. “He played his entire existence at being a man, thanks to his astonishing and inexhaustible gift of metamorphosis, at playing at being a man, as others play cops and robbers…”, he concluded.
