The 36-year-old English boxing champion announced his retirement from the sport in a short video on Monday, January 13.
“I'll keep it short. I'd like to announce my retirement from boxing. It's been a pleasure”, said the Briton, who is coming off two straight defeats against Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk. British boxer Tyson Fury, a former world heavyweight champion, announced Monday that he was ending his career at the age of 36 in a video posted to his Instagram account.
This is not the first time that the “Gypsy King”, his nickname, has announced that he is retiring from the ring. He had already done so in 2022, when he announced that he was retiring on his 34th birthday, before reversing his decision a few months later.
Fury, beaten in December by the Ukrainian Usyk for the world champion title, was expected to face his compatriot Anthony Joshua this year. Tyson Fury's record is 34 wins, including 24 by KO, for one draw and two losses.
